Today I am stepping into a realm of blogging I have loved for a long time and have yet to tackle myself! That all changed last week and today marks the first of a 5 video series featuring home cleaning! Specifically DIY natural cleaners for your home. Today's recipe is a for an All Purpose cleaner. I have already gone through 2 full bottles of this particular recipe and I absolutely love it. It smells so good and it is has just a few easy ingredients that are safe for your family and surfaces! I confess that I love to watch "speed cleaning" or "power hour" videos on YouTube because they help motivate me to clean and organize my own home. Finding a real source of motivation when your tired and pregnant isn't always easy and so I find that watching a quick video on cleaning gets me going every time! I am interested to hear what helps motivate you when you know you have some cleaning and tidying to do but your feeling less than thrilled about actually getting it done?
I have a fairly simple cleaning routine. I tidy and maintain both in the evening and morning and then I have a schedule for things like dusting, windows, floors and then I do "zone cleaning" when I'm really on top of things! This is a list of things I clean that are considered more "deep cleaning" that I clean on a rotation to keep up with things like baseboards, light fixtures, vents, inside kitchen cabinets and so much more! I'll be the first to admit that I fall off the wagon and don't always keep up with my zone cleaning. But, alas I have been on a roll the last few weeks and I am determined to keep it up so that I can have a house that's clean top to bottom by the time this baby arrives in December.
The reason I like the concept of schedules especially zone cleaning is because it eliminates these HUGE cleaning marathons that ensue before an event or company visits. It means your home is virtually always clean at the drop of the hat because everything is always being maintained! Doesn't that sound wonderful? To have a house that is virtually always deep cleaned? I know that may not be a priority for everyone but its something that honestly brings me joy, but finding the balance between being a crazy cleaning tornado and simply just getting things done without being stressed out are often a tough balance for me to wage!
I'm sure I'm not the only one who struggles to keep this balance so I've shared some free printables you can follow should you need some structure for your cleaning routine that includes my daily tasks and weekly routine as well as my zone cleaning schedule. This zone cleaning schedule is not a new concept. I first heard about it from the amazing How Jen Does it. But she got the idea many years back from Fly Lady.com.
Now for the part you've really been waiting for! My all purpose natural cleaner! This cleaner I use to clean my surfaces as well as my bathroom surfaces! Its great for all over your home! You can watch the video below to see how I made mine and the written recipe will appear right below it!
